Job Summary
The Director/VP of eCommerce & Marketing is responsible for leading the company’s digital growth strategy across eCommerce, digital marketing, and online customer engagement. This role oversees the performance, strategy, and day-to-day management of the company’s B2B online platforms, including the website, hosted catalogs, EDI, and marketplace channels (such as Amazon). Additionally, the role drives integrated marketing initiatives that enhance brand visibility, generate qualified leads, and improve customer retention.

This leader will partner closely with IT’s Product Manager to ensure alignment of business strategy, customer experience, and technology roadmap. They will also play a key role in the company’s 80/20 customer segmentation initiative, ensuring digital and marketing investments focus on strategic, high-value customer segments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee online sales channels, including corporate websites, EDI transactions, and marketplaces (e.g., Amazon).
  • Focus on robust product data management, site search optimization, and personalized customer experiences.
  • Conduct continuous analysis of site performance metrics and customer behavior for ongoing improvements.
  • Spearhead multi-channel marketing programs, including:
    • Digital advertising
    • SEO/SEM
    • Content marketing
    • Ensuring consistent brand messaging across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with sales and product teams to develop campaigns supporting product launches and driving account growth.
  • Implement data-driven marketing strategies to maximize ROI and deploy an effective marketing technology stack.
  • Partner strategically with IT, sales, and operations to align eCommerce and broader business goals.
  • Support the company's digital transformation roadmap.
  • Mentor and lead a cross-functional team focused on eCommerce operations, digital marketing, and content.
  • Align KPIs with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Provide technical oversight by working with IT to set requirements and manage integrations for e-commerce systems.
  • Ensure exceptional user experience across digital platforms.
  • Enhance customer experiences by synchronizing pricing, product data, inventory, and order processing.
  • Build and lead a cohesive eCommerce team and serve as a liaison between business and technology sectors.
  • Define KPIs for performance monitoring and leverage insights to optimize customer engagement.
  • Drive innovation by exploring new digital sales opportunities and implementing transformative initiatives for modernized customer engagement strategies.
  • Significantly impact the company’s digital landscape, ensuring a competitive advantage in the market.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in eCommerce and/or digital marketing leadership roles, ideally in B2B or distribution environments.
  • Proven experience integrating marketing strategy with digital commerce platforms.
  • Strong understanding of SEO/SEM, web analytics, marketing automation, and CRM systems.
  • Experience with marketplaces, hosted catalogs, and EDI preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Sales, and Operations.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong business acumen and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated collaboration with IT teams and technical product managers to deliver business-driven outcomes.
  • Data-driven and customer-focused, with a track record of delivering measurable growth.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and change-management skills.

Compensation
